LAFF Appoints Evosevich to Board
Lake Arrowhead, CA (12-Jul-08). Lake Arrowhead Film Festival is pleased to announce the appointment of J.M. Evosevich, Ph.D. to its board. Dr. Evosevich is one of the co-owners of Windermere Real Estate in Blue Jay. “We are excited to have J.M. on board for his vision and love of the arts,” states Mary Dippell, LAFF President.
Evosevich is a part time Lake Arrowhead resident and has been involved in the mountain communities for the past 10 years. In addition to his real estate business, he has a full time practice as a psychotherapist in Palm Springs. Evosevich has served on many boards for community foundations and community based organizations. “I am thrilled, excited, and honored to be a part of the Lake Arrowhead Film Festival; I’m a movie buff and love the intimate atmosphere of the Film Festival on the mountain.”
The Lake Arrowhead Film Festival saw its debut in the spring of 1999 and has been growing and exciting filmmakers ever since. Originally, the goal was to bring innovative, independent film to this small resort community to not only increase awareness of the ins and outs of filmmaking but to also showcase our beautiful mountain surroundings in the hope of luring more people from the Los Angeles area to vacation and visit more often. Because Lake Arrowhead was often called “Hollywood’s back lot” in the 40’s and 50’s due to the enormous amount of films being shot there, it was felt that it would be the perfect venue for a somewhat small but very elegant Film Festival.
From 2003 through to the present, the Lake Arrowhead Film Festival has evolved into a much anticipated and extremely well attended event and promises to become more innovative each year so that it will be known as the “best, smallest festival in the world”.
